Previous News12.06.2005 - Isabel Marks:Here's a run-down on the last week or so...For starters, I've been having a lot of difficulties sleeping lately, I'll get two or three hours each night if I'm lucky. I'm chalking that up to stress from book preparing, stress from writing You Say it First's recent huge arcs (which I've more or less hit a wall on right now) and getting over the cold I caught from Momo (who is back to mostly normal). What does that all have to do with the lack of comics? Not much, actually. It's just been a really odd week for me and I felt like mentioning it. :P
Then last night while making dinner I fell really hard on my tailbone (long, embarrassing story, so all you get is the outcome). I have a lump on my tail bone and my spine is really sore (which I assume is from the trauma of the fall). I figure I'm still moving, although it really bothers to move and choose not to right now, so I must be ok - probably just bruised it and my bad back only makes it feel worse.
So all day today I've more or less been in bed, only getting up to try and write and feed the kitties. Terrence, Mt. Morhibiki (as well as a few other places) best husband ever, came home during his lunch break and bought me Animal Crossing: Wild World to keep my mind off of my back (and that it did).
So I've spent most of my day either sleeping it off in bed or Animal Crossing it off in bed, either way I'm really not in any shape to do anything as back-stressing as two comics (I hunch when I work, I try not to, but I always end up doing it), so I'll have to make it up to you all.
On the bright side... if you have Animal Crossing: Wild World yourself... we're going to eventually set up some kind of in-game party for all you ND/YSIF/SP fans who also play the game! Just e-mail me at isabelmarks @ namirdeiter.com (remove spaces of course) with your friend code, the name of your in- game town name and of course your in-game name and I will send you mine (so we can be buddies). If you invite me over I'll put some ND graffiti and some other crud (that won't be mean, or anything like that) in your town. And I also got to get a little more sleep.
Ok, that's it... comics tomorrow or when I feel better (either way, I'll make up for any comics I miss).
11.26.2005 - Terrence Marks:We'll be closing the ND Store from November 30th until mid-January (possibly February) so we can take a break, avoid the holiday rush at the Post Office, and restock. Expect several new items when we come back. If you want any ND goodness-in-book-format for December, order soon!11.20.2005 - Terrence Marks:People have been asking "How can we be sure that we get 13 comics a week for December?" So if you get halfway to our two-month goal by the end of the month, we can guarantee you the full dose of Namir Deiter and You Say it First for the month of December.11.13.2005 - Terrence Marks:Hi, folks. Storywise, we're in the middle of something big here. Of course, you've probably already figured that out by now. I hope you enjoy it.I've been doing a lot of programming lately. Most of it has ended up on NamirDeiter.net or functional improvements that should be invisible to readers. So there's a moderate amount going on but not much to report. I'm back amongst the working (and have been for the last two months or so - I just now noticed that it hadn't been mentioned here). The kittens are doing fairly well, and I'm up to Following the Equator in my Twainathon.
10.24.2005 - Isabel Marks:Woah... a lot going on without a lot of news.I'll keep it short because I'm not feeling so hot- I have another wonderful kitten baby- her name is Momo and we got her from the pound about a week ago... when we got her she had a bad cold that quickly got worse to the point where she had to stay with the vet for a few days. Buttons the wonder biting kitten is also sick, which means lots of vet and medication bills and sick kitties at hand.
So, in other words, we're really hoping we make the donation goal this month to help off-set all our vet bills and with only eight days (as of Monday), we're only half way there. So, we're adding in a few more incentives and introducing you all to some new features we've got for donators:
-If we make our $1000 goal, everyone who donated $10 or more will receive their 12 page bonus comic in full color (instead of black and white) and $50 donator's original drawings (of any ND Unlimited character of your choice) will be colored!
-This month's bonus comic over at namirdeiter.net (which we're running two of a week instead of just one) is another chapter to Grover Hills (chapter one is available on-line only at namirdeiter.net and will eventually be re released in color). This month we're taking a look into Halloween in the sleepy college town of Grover Hills in full color comic-book style page layouts!
-We've also added a brand new weekly feature called 'ND Talk', a weekly Internet show feature Terrence and Isabel Marks, where we answer reader questions plus anything else we have to babble about.
-We've added a ton (or at least 50-pounds worth) of new avatar dolls (including the main female cast of Namir Deiter), plus a brand new tag board (thanks to super-coder Terrence)!
-Not much of an incentive but every once in a while I add pictures of the super biting kitty duo, Momo and Buttons
Interested? Why not consider donating today and help keep me in kitty kibble!
10.01.2005 - Terrence Marks:We didn't make our donation goal this month, but we got close. We had two major hurricanes hit, and I know a good many of you donated to the Red Cross instead. You guys still came through and helped me out and it wouldn't be fair to act as if nothing happened.Namir Deiter will go on a six day a week schedule (Monday-Saturday) instead of the original five. You Say it First will go four days a week - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - instead of three. We're going to update this weekend, though, mainly because the comics are already written.
Comic books for the donors will be sent out in about two weeks. NamirDeiter.net will have one comic and six sketches each week, and one wallpaper per comic this month (officially - I added five ND wallpapers and five miscellaneous wallpapers, but I only plan on adding one wallpaper each for You Say it First and Spare Parts. But I was planning on adding those bonus wallpapers whether or not we reached our goal). We will be adding some new features to the donor site later this month.
I just want to say thank you, guys, for supporting ND - I understand there was a lot going on and thank you all for all the help you gave me.
09.22.2005 - Isabel Marks:After re-reading the donation page...The way we've had our donation bar/ thank you gifts wording was a bit unclear, so we're clarifying a few things...
First off, the thank you book will not be sent out to anyone until the $600 mark is met. If we do not reach that total by the end of the month, none of the thank-you books will be sent out. People who donate $50+ will receive at the least the specified $50 thank you gift (in this month's case, the original artwork).
Also, even if the $600 is met, only people who donate at least $10 will receive the book, (i.e. people who donated $1 through $9 would not receive the book). The original wording was a bit misleading due to trying to limit the amount of text on the donation bar image.
If you donated this month and do not agree with the above terms, please e-mail us with your username and the Paypal transaction ID number. Your account will be suspended and your money will be returned to you.
Truth be told, we will more than likely not reach our goal this month... it's completely understandable and truthfully there are many other people who need that money more than I do right now... Terrence and myself donated through his employer (who were doing a "we'll double any money you donate") and we greatly encourage you to help in any way you can.
