Previous News03.07.2005 - Isabel Marks:It's been quite a last few days around here... I spent the last week mad-dashing through Tipporomatic, the bonus comic that was sent out to all the donators who gave at least $10 last month. This month we have upped the total to at least $15 once I realized how much work it really was. O_o Almost all the books have been sent out as of the 5th (to you donators out there, please head over to namirdeiter.net and read the news there for more information.I have yet to start working on the bonus comics for March, but I have been working on scripts. Hopefully I'll have the $40 donator book done... before the month ends. Sorry. Got VERY overzealous by going 16 pages... but, a promise is a promise... it just may take a bit.The theme of this book will be Unlike Minerva/ You Say it First.
Not sure what the theme of the 12 page 'if we get $1000 everyone who donated $15 will get this book' will be. Terrence is currently working on a poll for the namirdeiter.net site to help me make my decision.
This week over at namirdeiter.net... Instead of just two bonus comics- this week namirdeiter.net will be recieving a five day a week comic update. However, only two of the five are brand-new-never-been-seen-before comics- but the others have'nt in about two or three years, so chances are they'll be new to you!
I plan on doing some kind of site update for You Say it First... eventually. I'm sorry, I've just been really busy and really tierd, with getting things ready for the paysite and continuing with the web comics... it's been busy lately.
02.24.2005 - Isabel Marks:Long story short, due to a few mix-ups and faxing mistakes, there is going to be a bit of a delay to getting You Say it First Book Two out for sale. I just hope I didn't totally mess this up .___.Hopefully I will have the books in a few weeks and I can update the store to it's full... glory?
02.20.2005 - Isabel Marks:Wow... You Say it First turned one years old on February 20th, 2005... which means as of tomorrow (Monday) we have lived in California for a year as well. Which means I can now go back to college as of next semester and I need to renew our P.O. Box... so many- many things! One year of You Say it First... and poor Brisbane hasn't gotten anywhere with Kimberly (and vice versa). The sad thing is the thing that set the domino effect that lead me to realize that today was YSiF's first year anniversary was a dream I had where I realized I needed to start looking into college...it got me thinking about when I came to California- which got me looking at my driver's license (where I found out we were here in February- not March like I had thought) which made me think "What- if we were here in February- just when did You Say it First start?!"- then I checked the site and nearly feel over- I almost missed the comic's anniversary.
Oh man, I feel like I forgot a relative's birthday... ><
Don't worry, comic, Terrence and I will go out and get you a cake now!
02.17.2005 - Isabel Marks:Gah-! Too many news pages to update! Quite sorry about this. The truth of the matter is, I'm currently extremely swamped. I've been working on a lot of different things as of late... the regular comics, some fan art (which I still need to finish SOON), bonus content for namirdeiter.net (which you can get access to just for donating $10), the 16-page bonus story that will be sent out to donators, plus a bunch of other things...To make matters worse, I've been sick for the past two weeks... hopefully I'll be better soon and be back to full speed.
ND Unlimited made it's monthly goal- which means the six day a week update schedule for You Say it First will continue in the month of March- thank you very much to everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the bonus content on Namirdeiter.net!
In other news, last week I received the proof for You Say it First book 2. I have to say, I am quite happy with the book- I learned quite a bit while making YSiF Book 1 which will hopefully show through in book 2. Please look forward to it!
01.31.2005 - Isabel Marks:January certainly hasn't been a great month for YSIF as far as hosting goes (which is nothing to do with our hosts). First it was hit by a DOS attack, then our bandwidth got used up before the billing month... we're on back on back-up bandwidth, so everything should be alright for now.But still... it's certainly odd and a little distressing to see the site going down twice in one month (though I should mention it was no one's fault- the wonderful people over at Fuitadnet's help chat have certainly seen more than enough of us).
The good news is though, YSIF has reached it's goal for this month, which means the comic will continue to update seven days a week for the month of February- thank you to everyone who has helped us! Your faith in the comic (and of course your donations ^^;) has helped to keep me going through many rough times! I'm especially pleased that we made it this month, considering the slow start it had, thank you all!
I'm going to eventually start doing mini-reviews of web comics (like my husband Terrence is doing over at Spare Parts- which, by the way, I gave a new site design to- I hope you all enjoy it!), expect to see the first one sometime this week!
Also, in comic related news, please be sure to check out Oriyan! - a wonderful, drop-dead gorgeous webcomic by Celeste Smith and Jessica Hymas. It's the kind of comic that you all should have been reading as of yesterday. Seriously.
01.24.2004 - Terrence Marks:One more thing - we're raffling off the original art for this month's wallpaper. For every $5 you donate during January, you get a chance. We'll have a drawing on February 1st. And yes, previous donations for January will be counted.01.23.2004 - Terrence Marks:We currently offer wallpaper and extra updates in exchange for donation. We're thinking of making some changes to our donation schedule. E-mail me and let me know what else you'd like. Isabel works very hard right now, so anything that involves my talents (programming [like the news archives we have now - you can read old news, check the link at the bottom of this], writing Spare Parts and YSiF, site updates, and such. I do NOT write ND, however) is especially welcome. Also, You Say it First is falling very short of its donation goal for the month. It's a good comic and we want to keep up the 6-day-a-week updates. This is our only source of income right now. The money goes to food and bills. There's only about a week left in January. Please help us keep up the schedule. - Terrence
